Dr. Walter Reeder, 85, of Carnegie, GA passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ray Kelly officiating.

Mr. Reeder was born on September 28, 1940, in Cleveland OH, the son of the late John Edward Reeder and the late Charlotte Frye Reeder. He was US Navy and Army Reserve Veteran of 18 years serving 3 years in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Laura White.

He was a graduate from Edgewood High School in Orlando, FL, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Wiliam Carey and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Baptist College. He received a master's degree of Religious Education and a Doctor of Theology degree from New Orleans Baptist Seminary and Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He received a Certification of Ordination in 1963. He was an Honorary member of Sons of American Revolution, Scottish Rites and was elected to Pi Gamma Mu Society. He was Deacon of United Methodist Conference Alabama-West Florida. He was a retired Methodist Minister last serving the Columbia United Methodist Church in Columbia, AL.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Taylor Reeder of Carnegie, a son, John Reeder in Johns Creek, GA and a granddaughter, Phoebe Reeder of Johns Creek, GA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at P. O. Box 1000 Department 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
