William David Melton, 70, of Shellman, GA passed away on November 2, 2015 in Phoebe North Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted in Rehoboth Baptist Church near Shellman on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Morris Muncus and Dr. Ben McFather will officiate.

Mr. Melton was born on December 20, 1944 in Fort Benning, GA the son of the late John Ross Melton and Christine Gilder. He was a retired Barber and Construction Foreman and also attended the Shellman First Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, J. R. Melton, Jr  a sister, Dale Melton and a half-sister, Wilma Gilder.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Robbie Melton Paul and her husband, Ed Paul of Cuthbert, Becky Melton Weathersby of Shellman and Jan Melton Corbin of Shellman, a brother, Wayne Clay Melton of Shellman, a sister, Polly Melton Simpson of Shellman, 8 grandchildren, David Paul, Sidney Avera, Chris Pierce, Tiffany Paul, Drew Weathersby, Ruthie Corbin, Davina Scarborough and Jolie Scarborough, 2 great grandchildren, Joshua Liam Williams, Jr. and Maddalynn Grace Paul, his "sweetie", Shirley Beck, special nieces and nephews, Christie Nichols, Buster and Pam Nichols, Steven Fulghum, Ross Hunter and John Simpson and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Lunsford Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
