Willie Jim Pate, 93, of Cuthbert died Thursday, August 22, 2013 in the Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Damascus Baptist Church at 2909 Fountain Bridge Road, Cuthbert, GA.
Mr. Pate was born on January 21, 1920 in Clay County the son of the late James Travis and Amy Estelle Craft Pate. Mr. Pate was a retired farmer, attended Damascus Baptist Church and was a Veteran of World War II serving in Burma and India. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Lenora Cooper Pate, three brother, Milton Pate, Maynard Pate and Daniel Pate, four sisters, Elinor Hamilton, Eunice Nordan, Audrey Wilson and Margery Pate.
Survivors include a son, Edwin Scott Pate of Pinehurst, GA, a daughter, Sandra Wynette Pate LeMieux of Paulding, Ohio, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Crosby, two brothers, James Marcus Pate of Atlanta, GA and Malcolm Brewer (Mac) Pate of Cuthbert, GA , four grandchildren, Michael (Jeanne) LeMieux, of Paulding, Ohio, Mark (Jonna) LeMieux of Convoy, Ohio, David (Jennifer) Pate of Chattanooga, TN and Ashley (Scott) Kenna of Chattanooga, TN and twelve great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Damascus Baptist Church at 2909 Fountain Bridge Road, Cuthbert, Ga. 39840 or to Wounded Warriors.
