Anita O’Clair Chambless, 83, of Leesburg, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at her residents. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021, in the Shellman Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Morris Monkus officiating.
Anita was born on January 10, 1938, in Caribou, ME the daughter of the late Albert and Cecile T. O’Clair. She was a former resident of Shellman where she retired from the Peerless Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church in Shellman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Steve Chambless and 2 sons, Jody and Michael Chambless, 2 sisters Blanche St. Peter and Germaine Damboise, 2 brothers Gilbert and Henry O'Clair.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Cecile Saint Peter of Leesburg and Kandi (Bob) Johnson of South Gardner, ME, 2 sons, Robert Dence, Jr. of Leesburg and Steve Chambless of TX, 3 sisters, Mary (Bob) Guerrette of Caribou, ME , Gert (Bob) Miner of Tredwell, NY, and Jeanette Mathis of Dawson, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and she looked up to Michael Manley as another son.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
