Obituary

Carol Ann McKinnon Morrison, 88, of County Line Community, died peacefully at her home on Monday, January 23, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Smith officiating and interment to follow in the Church Graveyard.

Carol Ann was born in Coffee County, Georgia on August 23, 1934. She grew up mostly in Southeast Georgia. After her 1958 marriage to Richard Morrison, she lived in County Line Community, Stewart County, Georgia for 65 years.

Carol Ann set an example of lifelong formal and self-education. She graduated from Coffee County High School, obtained BS Degree from Berry College, and in her middle years, obtained a master’s degree from Georgia State College. She also took courses at Columbus College and the University of Georgia, where she met her future husband. She taught Home Economics at Stewart County High School, and later was the school food service supervisor for Stewart, Quitman, and Schley Counties.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Richard Morrison; mother, Laura Summerlin McKinnon; father, William Bryan McKinnon; sisters: Theda McKinnon Allen, Gene Ragan, and Paulette McKinnon Wilson; brothers: John Willis McKinnon, Thomas Rudolph McKinnon, and William Dwight McKinnon.

She is survived by her, daughter, Cathy Morrison Rudowske and husband Mark; son, James Winston Morrison, and wife Julie; granddaughter, Carrie Grace Rudowske; brother, Clark McKinnon and wife Sherry; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Carol Ann’s interest in genealogy led to membership in several genealogy societies, including Daughters of the American Revolution, and The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. As a leader in these groups, she taught short courses on using internet in historical genealogy research. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Carol Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a dedicated friend. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
