CATHERINE ODELL TURNER

Catherine Odell Smith Turner was born March 7, 1923, to Mattie and Alex Smith, Calhoun County, Georgia.  She was called to spend her 100^th birthday with Jesus and other loved ones that have preceded her in death, her husband, Falcom (Shack) Turner, daughter, June Curry and son, Ray Turner. 

Her surviving family includes her younger sister, Dot Milner, daughter, Bobbie Gaston (Levin), and Son- in- Law, Bill Curry (June and Karen) and Daughter- in-Law Christine Turner (Ray). Also, Grandchildren Al Curry (Jo), Dennis Curry (Suzy), Sharon McCown (Don), Bryan Hilton, and Brody Hilton (Jennifer). Surviving Great Grandchildren are Kyle Curry, Brett Curry, Kendall Curry, Benjamin Curry, Danny McCown, and Megan McCown and her great- great grandchildren, Caden, Rae, Riley (Danny), Delilah (Megan) and Kinsley June (Kyle).

She has left us with special memories, her love of music by teaching herself to play piano, and many tales of her life. She loved her church and church family at New Light Freewill Baptist in Morgan, Ga. where she taught Sunday School for many years. Her work life was brief, working as a cook at the small restaurant in Morgan, but her favorite job was cooking at home, sewing for her children, and taking care of her family. 

She graduated to be with Jesus on February 20, 2023.

Funeral Service to be held at New Light Baptist Church on February 24, 2023, at 2 p.m

Visitation 1 until 2 PM in the church.
