DORIS JEAN (SKEEN) SEWARD

Doris Jean Seward, 83, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Patterson Hospital in Cuthbert. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in the Morris Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hartley officiating. In case of inclement weather services will be held at Morris Baptist Church. Friends are welcome however social distancing is required.

Ms. Seward was born on September 26, 1936 in Archdale, NC the daughter of the late Robert Guthrie and Stella May Ferguson Skeen. Her mother died when she was 6 years old and was reared by her step-mother, Ila Bowman Burrow Skeen, whom she loved dearly. She was a high school graduate, and resided in Pensacola, FL. a member of Point Baptist Church and retired from Lowes, prior to coming to Cuthbert. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Melva Skeen Parker, brothers, Harrison Skeen, Leon Burrow and Harrison Burrow and a daughter-in-law, Sherri Seward.

Survivors include 3 sons, Randy (Polly) Seward of Morris, GA, Danny Seward of Pensacola, FL and Jerry Seward of Hawkinsville, GA, a sister, Ann Skeen Burton of Randleman, NC, a brother, Olin Skeen of High Point, NC, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
