Following his time in the service, they returned to Cuthbert. Jimmy and Barbara joined the First Baptist Church where they grew their faith and raised their children, Lori and Spence. Jimmy was a strong Christian and served in many capacities at First Baptist from choir member to deacon. He loved Jesus and his church home.
Jimmy began a career with the United States Postal Service in 1969 retiring in 2000 as Postmaster. Simultaneously, Jimmy found his true passion when he began as a part time EMT in Randolph County in 1974. Upon retiring from the United States Postal Service, he began full time as a paramedic and later became EMS Director of Randolph County. Jimmy taught hundreds of hours of CPR, EMS training classes, worked thousands of shift hours caring for and serving the people of Randolph and surrounding counties. In 1996, he volunteered as a paramedic for the Olympics in Atlanta. In 2006, he was named the Georgia Region 7 EMS Director of the year, retiring in 2013 at the age of 75. In 2015, the Randolph County EMS Station was named for him in honor of his dedication and service.
Jimmy delighted in his grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. His daughter recalls the many times he went above and beyond and summed up her daddy’s life as “nothing was too much trouble”.
He was preceded in death by his son, Spencer Franklin Sealy. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Franklin Sealy, his daughter Lori S. Allen (Robbie) of Cumming, daughter-in-law Susan G.
