JANICE RUTH CRUMPTON STANDLEY

Janice Ruth Crumpton Standley, 76, of Rome, Ga. died Wednesday May 18, 2022, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday May 21, 2022, at New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines, Ga. with the Rev. Nathan Ziglar and Steve Whatley officiating.

Mrs. Standley was born Dec. 18, 1945, in Americus, Ga. the daughter of Willie and Ola Bell Crumpton. She was an active member of the Cuthbert First Baptist Church before relocating to Rome, Georgia. She supported school sports and band programs while raising her three children and then focused on supporting the church youth program.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Walter (Bubba) Standley of Rome, Georgia; daughters Maurice Nichols of Rome and Shelley Burch (Mathew) of Lutz, Florida; son Jeffery Standley (Tabitha) of Kingston, Georgia; grandchildren: Jason (Jack) Nichols, Jr., Sarah (Liz) Nichols, Jaina Burch, Chael Burch, Dillan Frazier, Ansley Standley and great grandson Eli Nichols.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gene and Gerald Crumpton and a sister Dorothy Roberts.

The family is requesting donations to be made to the Cuthbert First Baptist Church Youth Group, P.O. Box 274 Cuthbert, Ga. in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, May 20, 2022, at Lunsford Funeral Home.
