JOHN W. SAMMONS, III

John William Sammons, III, 53, of Carnegie passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Shellman Eastview Cemetery with Annette Nichols officiating.

John was born on April 2, 1970, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late John William (Sonny) Sammons, Jr. and the late Chrissilda Corley Sammons. He was a graduate of Randolph Southern High School, attended Georgia Southwestern University and Valdosta State University and was the owner-operator of Randolph County Cabinets in Shellman. John was a master carpenter specializing in custom cabinetry for 30 years servicing Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Juliette “Julie” Sammons.

Survivors include his daughter, Christen Suzanne Sammons of Phenix City, AL, son, John William “Jake” Sammons, IV of Statesboro, sister, Suzanne (Al) S. Sudderth of Dawson his fiancé, Natasha Nichols Parker of Carnegie and an expected grandchild, Everett Jake Fielder.
