MERILYN (PEARCE) CRAPPS

Merilyn Pearce Crapps 93, of Ft. Gaines, Ga. passed away Monday June 5, 2023, in Fellowship Home at Cottonhill near Cuthbert, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 8, 2023 in the Mount Vernon Baptist Cemetery with George Hartley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 Am until service time at the cemetery.

Mrs. Crapps was born April 26, 1930, in Clay County, the daughter of the late William Lester and Olene Davis Pearce. She was a graduate of Clay Co. High School.  She retired from the ASCS office in Clay County after 39 years of service and was a lifelong member of the Mount Vernon Baptist near Ft. Gaines, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hilory “Bud” Clifton Crapps, Sr.

Survivors include a son Hilory “Hil” Clifton Crapps, Jr. of Blakely, a daughter, Kathy (Kenny) Clines of Ft. Gaines, Ga.; a sister, June (Douglas) McDonald of Dunedin, FL; 4 grandchildren, Jim Collier, Crystal Brown, Angela Carter and Clif Crapps; 9 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in care of Glenda Lewis P. O. Box 434 Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.
