Ollie Jean Trawick McKemie, 86, of Coleman passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the Willson Hospice House. Private Family Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Goodlett and Rev Scott Brenton officiating. A celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. McKemie was born on February 9, 1931 in Iron City the daughter of the late George and Rosa Mae Henry Trawick. She was a member of the Blakely United Methodist Church, various clubs including the United Methodist Women and a number of Library Associations. She was a graduate of Andrew College and Valdosta State College. She was a retired teacher and librarian and a homemaker with a passion for baking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William Johnston McKemie III and a brother; William Ledford Trawick
Survivors include a son; George Raymond McKemie and his wife Nancy of Pelham daughter; Rosemarie McKemie Kolker and her husband Roger of Fairport, NY, 3 grandchildren; Rebecca Jane McKemie, of Thomasville, GA Kathryn Kolker Miller and her husband Christopher of Baltimore, MD and Roger Russell Kolker III of Fairport, NY and a great grandchild; Blakely McKemie Miller.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at her home at 2584 Edison Highway Coleman, GA. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Blakely at 397 College St. Blakely, GA 39823, the American Heart Association, or the Willson Hospice House.
