ROBERT "BOBBY" McALLISTER

Robert “Bobby” Harvey McAllister, 84, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, in the Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the chapel of Lunsford Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Cuthbert Eastview Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Giddens and Rev. Guy Causey will officiate.

Mr. McAllister was born on January 21, 1938, in Bay St. Louis, MS the son of the late Bennett William McAllister, the late Eva May Peterson McAllister and Beloved step-grandmother, Jewell Powell McAllister. He was a 4-year US Navy Veteran, a machinist with Shettles Precision and employed by H. and H. Hardware in Cuthbert for many years. He was a member of the Coleman Volunteer Fire Department and the Cuthbert Masonic Lodge 19. He was a former Deacon of the Faith Baptist Church in Cuthbert before moving his membership to the Shorterville Baptist Church in Shorterville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a sister, Benita M. Smith.

Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Louise Jones McAllister of Abbeville, AL, 2 daughters, Beth (David) Melling of Prattville, AL and Patricia (Yancey) McCalla of Abbeville, AL, a brother, Tom (JoAnn) McAllister of Tucker, GA, 3 grandchildren, Madeline, Harrison and Gracelyn, step-grandchild, Caleb (Ru) McCalla, a step-great grandchild, Kaia Simpson and many nieces and nephews

Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Mission in care of Faith Baptist Church 166 Webster St. Cuthbert, GA 39840 or the Shorterville Baptist Church County Rd. 65 Shorterville, AL 37373, The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until funeral time at the funeral home.
