Tammy Torbert Caldwell, 61, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Vilulah Baptist Church with Rev. David Murphy and Rev. Daniel McFather officiating. Interment will follow in the Vilulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tammy was born on May 20, 1958 in Cuthbert Ga. the daughter of the late Willie George “Jack” and Lorene Lindsey Torbert. She was a graguate of Clay County High School , she was married to her loving sweetheart Alvin Caldwell for 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Vilulah Baptist Church. Tammy worked for Georgia Power for 30 years as a secretary. She loved working in her garden and cooking soul food for her family and friends. She was a member of the Ft. Gaines garden club.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin Caldwell of Coleman, stepsons Todd Caldwell, Scott “Trouble” Caldwell (Christie); and 5 step grandchildren; 5 brothers, Samuel (Barbara) Torbert of Cuthbert, Jack (Wanda) Torbert of Cuthbert, Jerry (Maxine) Torbert of Colquitt, Dan (Mary) Torbert of Americus and Terry (Teresa) Torbert of Coleman. She was also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lorene Torbert and nephew John Torbert.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until funeral time in the Vilulah Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Vilulah Baptist church in care of Mrs. Billie Bruner 30340 US Hwy 27, Coleman, GA 39836.
