It is with a sad heart that I find out this news. I just spoke to her a couple of months ago on the day after my brother's funeral. She was always so kind and helpful. She was a wonderful friend to my Mother, Elsie Mills Henson. They were really good friends. She could always be counted on for the latest news back home. One of my fondest memories was back in the 60's when the school segregated. I was in the 4th grade and she was my teacher. She taught our whole class to handle it with the utmost grace. That has stuck with me my whole life. She was really there for me when my daughter had her near fatal car wreck and also when my Mom moved up north to the Nursing Home. I could always go back home and find "Miss Marianne" and know I was still "Home". My heart goes out to Dr. Stone and each of the children. I'll be praying for you all. With much love, Jennifer

I am so sad to learn of Miss Marianne’s passing. She was such a great neighbor and one of the funniest ladies I’ve ever known. A trip back home was not complete with a walk across the street to visit and catch up. She is greatly missed. My prayers are with each of you.
